The Strathmore Educational Trust Staff Provident Fund was established by Strathmore Educational Trust, Registered Trustees (SERT) "the Founder". The Fund became operational with effect from 1st January 1990.

The main goal of the fund is to provide retirement and other benefits for the fund members and their respective dependents on a sustainable basis.

The Fund is designed to serve eligible members of the Founder’s and associated institutions (sponsors)
Currently these institutions are:

1. Strathmore University
2. Strathmore School
3. Eastlands College of Technology
4. Strathmore Educational Trust Registered Trustees
5. Strathmore Research and Consultancy Center, SRCC

The Strathmore Educational Trust Staff Provident Fund is a defined contribution-provident fund. A Provident Fund provides only a Lump Sum payment at retirement so the retiree accesses all their funds at a go. The member can use the funds to either buy an annuity, transfer into an income drawdown fund or use the money as they deem fit.
